Cheap Pots from Woolworths - bargain!
Nick and I scored an absolute bargain today! Currently, our local Woolworths is selling these big pots for very, very cheap. These were $15 each, and the next size up, which are enormous, were only $21. We’re seriously considering going back and stocking up!
These are going to be the new home of our fruit and nut trees. We’ve got a ruby grapefruit, lime, lemonade tree, macadamia and a mulberry. They will be much happier once we put them in these nice big pots!
We also got a few more strawberries today - though they are a bit bitter. Any ideas what we can do to boost the sweetness? I’m thinking there must be some nutrient imbalance, but I’m not sure what it is.

Hi Jess,
Good one. Enjoy potting your plants.
Not sure on strawberries - what do you use for fertiliser? Do you have a worm farm?
I find my worm fertiliser makes everything grow wonderful in my garden. Makes me look brilliant in the garden when actually I am really quite ordinary.

Hi Jess, Strawberries need full sun to make them sweet. Maybe the problem is they weren’t in full sun til you moved to your new house.
They also need lots of organic matter in the soil.

Well, as for fertiliser, I’ve been using organic pellets. I’d love to have a worm farm, Sarhn - that’s next on the list!
And yes, they weren’t in full sun until recently.. thanks for the tip igrewer
